Dear

The prices in our online shop are going up next Thursday. This increase weighs heavily on us because it goes against our goal of achieving as much impact as possible for the price you pay for our products.

We've managed to have quite an impact in recent years, for example by continuing to increase our premiums for family farmers, promoting dynamic agroforestry and rejuvenating cocoa fields in Togo. What's more, we're currently building a new factory that will create a thousand additional jobs in Burkina Faso.

We're proud to have held out against the steady price increase over the past two years. While food prices in Germany have risen by over 20 percent since 2021, we haven't increased any of our prices. On the contrary, we lowered them by an average of 10 percent across the entire range.

We're now at the point where we are facing a troubling two years of losses. The cost of shipping containers and sending your packages has gone up considerably. In addition, wages have increased due to inflation and purchase prices are now significantly higher.

The board of directors met for a difficult discussion about this dilemma and came to the conclusion that we must act now. We are therefore increasing our prices by an average of 2 percent starting this Thursday.

gebana needs to be profitable in order to keep having an impact at the source. Our promise to double our impact remains the same.

I hope you'll continue on this journey with us and thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,

Christophe Schmidt
